Posted on 28. Dec, 2009 by admin in Lifestyle

We all have made them with promises to stick by them in order to improve on the shortcomings of the years before.  To say the least, they are better to make and harder to keep. Resolutions help us recognize what steps we need to take to become a better person so by all means do we encourage you all to make your resolutions for 2010. We wanted to lend you our advice on the top 10 New Year’s Resolutions that every “gaygirl” can manage to make and are all possible to keep.

10 - Change a Tire

Learn how to change a tire or maybe just start with the oil or even the wiper blades on a car but having the ability to DIY is a great skill to have. Not only does it save you time and money instead of calling someone else to do it but it’s also sexy as hell to be “handy”.  So whether it’s learning how to fix the basic s on a vehicle or putting your tools to work around the house, make it a point to learn a practical skill.

9 - Take on a Cookbook

How many times have you been stuck in your home with plenty of uncooked food and not one woman to cook it for you or maybe you’re tired of making the same two or three meals time and time again and want something new . Pick up a cookbook at your local bookstore or even search online for recipes. Nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook!

8- Volunteer

If you are reading this right now, then consider yourself fortunate. No matter the obstacles we’ve encountered this year, there is always someone worse off than you. So instead of “fucking and damning your life”, spend some time volunteering and giving back to those in need. It’ll definitely put you in a different and possibly more grateful perspective.  Nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook and gives back to the community!

7- Career Counseling (Or counseling in general)

Scroll through Facebook on a Monday morning and you will notice the overwhelming amount of people complaining about their jobs or begging for the weekend that passed not even 24 hours ago to return.  If you feel like you’re in a rut or stuck in your job with no options to turn to, try your hand at career counseling or career workshops. It can help motivate you with ideas on your next steps and is a great opportunity to network. Nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook, gives back to the community and is ambitious.

6 - Get a Checkup with your doctor!

Start the New Year healthy or at least aware. Make that appointment to see physician, even if it’s just a check up to make sure that everything’s okay. Your health is the single most important thing, if you lose that, then what else matters? And there’s nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook, gives back to the community, has ambition and get her checkups!

5 -  Get on that Workout Plan

How many of us have made our New Years resolutions to lose x amount of pounds or to simply start working out more and then easily go ignored as quickly as it came from our mouths. Having a scheduled workout routine keeps us in check, focused and more likely to stick to our goals. Exercise DVDs and programs such as PX90, weekly dance classes or sports leagues are exercise routines that will keep you motivated, give you more energy and help you look and feel better.  Nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook, gives back to the community, has ambition, gets those checkups and works it out!

4 - Devote more time to Hobbies

It’s very important to have a balanced life - while you work on your career, its also a great idea to take some time to do the things you enjoy. Start taking time to discover what it is that you like to do on your downtime and that does not include watching tv or surfing the net. Not only may you find your passion but you may meet some new people with similar interests in the process. 3 - Join the 700 Club

Judging by the way this year has gone financially; it would be best advised to keep a tight grip on your money and your credit score. One way to increase your credit score is to steer clear of credit cards if you can. If you can’t pay for it in cash, most likely you don’t need it. Start building your savings account, manage your finances with mint.com or seek a financial professional to help you get yourself on track. There’s nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook, gives back to the community, has ambition, gets those checkups while working it out,  has a hobby and good credit!

2 - Travel to a New Destination

Take a day trip to a city you wouldn’t ordinarily think twice about visiting, make international plans and go somewhere that broadens your horizons and takes you outside of your familiar surroundings. Even if you are not much of a traveler, I’m sure there are places right in your own neighborhood that are still very new to you. Step out there, even if it’s once a week, try something new. There’s nothing sexier than a handy girl who can cook, gives back to the community, has ambition, get those checkups while working it out, has a hobby, good credit and a passport!

1 - Conquer Your Biggest Fear

Our number one most important resolution is to tackle your fear. We all have them and they can be extremely paralyzing. The only way to overcome your fear is by acknowledging it and facing it head on. Take some time to think about the one thing that scares you the most and if it’s having a negative impact on your life and relationships, use 2010 as the year you decide not to let it hold you back any longer and there’s absolutely nothing sexier than that!
