We associate February with love and expressing that love to our partners on Valentine’s Day. How you choose to celebrate your love with your partner is subjective, but before you can share love, express love and receive love from another, YOU must be in love with yourself. How often do you find yourself putting everyone in your life, including your partner first before doing something for yourself? Self-love is the most important love one can experience. Self love is absent of ego, and is NOT self centered, or conceited. Self love is when you respect yourself enough that you stay out of harmful situations, get your needs met while avoiding hurting others, and take care of your body, mind, and spirit. You can only give pure, unconditional love to another if you are filled with it yourself.

“You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.”

3 Tips to loving yourSELF:

Never stop learning about yourself and wanting to improve your self-esteem. Speak positively to yourself at all times.

Give Love unconditionally to yourself, then to others. Acknowledge when love enters your life and give it freely after filling yourself up with positive messages about Love.

Journal (keep a diary) and understand yourself better as you let your thoughts about love be revealed. Uncover what is blocking your Love and what is bringing you Love so you can foster those feelings and thoughts.
