We as women sometimes don’t take good care of our bodies. We tend to do less exercise and not get the proper nutrition in our bodies which leave us at risk for many factors that can be prevented. When our bodies get the proper nutrition that it needs, it feels better and it may also increase your energy.
Obesity, smoking and stress are high among lesbians. There are some factors that you can’t control such as getting older, family health history, and race. But you can do something about some of the biggest risk factors.
“Obesity, smoking and stress are high among lesbians”
- Exercise is necessary to maintain a healthy heart. 30 to 45 minutes of exercise a day can also help burn fatty tissue that your body stores while you sleep.
- Keeping yourself hydrated throughout the day, is also a key. 6-8 ounces of water is essential to flushing out your system and it helps minimize bacterial build up.
- Cut back on oily or greasy food. Doing this decreases your chance of getting clogged arteries and it helps keep your blood flowing smoothly.

- 7 servings of fruits and vegetables is key to fueling your body that it needs throughout the day. Fruits provide the fiber your body needs on a daily basis.
- Cutting back on starchy food is important. Starchy food turns to sugar and your body storeswhich can lead to obesity, if you don’t exercise at least 2-3 times a week.
- Add protein based foods. Women need 100 grams of protein to keep the muscles lean.

Aloha Tina:
Great article! I walk 30 minutes every morning…not as a form of exercise but as a spiritual time for me to connect, breathe, listen to my music or personal development to get my day going. As a personal wellness coach myself, and in my ideal size (0), I’ve taken for granted that I didn’t need much water. However, 2 weeks ago I decided that I needed to implement this simple habit into my daily regimen and have been consuming half of my body weight (60 oz) of water daily. My body is happy and my skin has been looking incredible! As far as the veggies…Not quite ready yet to eat those…lol…Instead I take the Garden 7 from Herbalife and include the active fiber complex to make up for the roughage that fibrous fruits and veggies have.
I must say though, that these simple daily disciplines have been working miracles in my atttitude and total well-being.
Thank you for this reminder!
With love and light,
